Help for Hurricane Harvey Victims

Posted by Mark on August 29, 2017

We are all aware of the devastation that Hurricane Harvey has brought to the Houston and Gulf Coast areas. We may be miles away, but there are still ways we can help. Click below for more information.

Here are several ways that you can help out with Disaster Relief at the Texas Gulf Coast:

1. We are hosting a Blood Drive through Carter Blood Care this Wednesday, Aug 30, from 4 – 7 p.m. Most urgent needs are O-type (both + and –) but all blood types are appreciated. Contact our office to schedule a donation time. If you are reading this after our drive, Carter Blood Care has locations throughout the metroplex (carterbloodcare.org). Schedule an appointment, roll up your sleeve, and GIVE!

2. We encourage you to give to Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief teams. That can be done online at:
http://texasbaptistmen.org/Ministries/Disaster-Relief/DR-Ministries (You can also go to our church's Facebook page and donate directly there.)

3. We are in contact with one church in the Conroe area that does disaster relief with Texas Baptist Men. Once waters subside, they may contact us to help collect tangible goods that they can distribute ... if they are needed. For now, shelters in Dallas are talking about the need for diapers, baby wipes, formula, hygiene packs, new clothing (underwear, socks, etc.) Texas Baptist Men are also taking donations of that kind (and their warehouse is in our area) along with gift cards to WalMart, Home Depot, & Lowe's, water, & sports-type drinks.

There are many needs and many ways to participate. Please do something!
